Still rather busy... To the left is a critter that might eventually appear in Bune. It has constructed or accreted the sphere beneath it as a means of locomotion, giving it speed and agility it could otherwise not achieve with its short legs. On its 'chest' is a row of sensory pits; some of these serve for respiration and others are filled with small hairs that detect rapid changes in movement. I conceive of the top 'plume' as being an organ of balance, a weight it can use for fine inertial adjustments, and which can serve as a resting point on the ground as the critter mounts its ball or as a broad foot for achieving sudden stops.

A note on construction - I started drawing at the top, having no clear idea of what I wanted to draw. I was thinking of drawing a leaf as I extended it further, but as I drew the 'stem,' it started looking more like an animal with a plume to me than vegetation, so that's how I proceeded.

Until!
